I notice Kay is sat at the Shoebox area for an interview with a Sky News Analylist about Hillary Clinton at the moment.

However, they're not sat at the usual area at the shoebox. They seem to be sitting right in the corner, where the second elbow is, you can see it in this picture:

They've also put the plasma on there, it looks quite good.

Yeah here is the video;

Looks nice but there is so many other, nicer parts of the studio that they could use. I would love to see them go into the newsroom a bit more. No reason why they couldn't stick a camera in behind the shoebox, perhaps near the red wall with all the cities names on it.

I've always thought just parking a camera behind the 'editors' pat of the newsroom, just behind the desk would be good. The presenter could just stand up there, with the newswall still in shot, but also more of the newsroom.

Anyway, I'm not getting started on my opinion of how Sky use the studio, I'll just get mad Laughing

Sky News has come under fire in this week's Radio Times. Lauren Laverne (presenter of The Culture Show) says

"Myself, I go for Sky News in the morning, on the grounds that it brings you the news in the most overblown and alarmist fashion imaginable. I love their bombast and their "Be Very Terrified" approach to almost everything. I mean, when the crocodile man Steve Irwin died, Sky News made it into a sort of massive Death of Princess Di-type drama. Of course it was sad, but a sombre rolling news story with constant updates? I don't think so."

It's all very true, but you can't help thinking that it's a BBC magazine...

This is amazing, look at the first "View on Sky News" from their own Press Office

Great to see SKY promoting the first rule of Journalism: "A fair and balanced story" in that web link there - not a negative comment in sight. And the second, "never take a quote out of context" with Lauren Laverne Razz. Bet she's pissed off on two counts, the out of context quote and the fact she got her name spelt wrong: "Lauren Laverna."

Haha, love Krishnan Guru-Murphy's comment: "SKY is the Daddy of rolling news."

Oh, dated 2006, that explains it. Razz

Sky Press Office obviously place great respect in Chris Tarrant our saviour:

What's the first media you turn to in the mornings?"
"Sky News - their coverage is superb."

Brilliant coverage from Sky of the breaking news from Zimbabwae,fast-paced and lots of good interviews(with the deputy information minister etc.) And nice use of the newswall aswell with three individual screens on it. Great stuff.

I honestly don't understand this statement; I don't personally see why it matters.

Exactly, accuracy and quality of reporting over speed favoured.
