Just saw HIGNFY with Kirsty Young. Very funny reference to Sky News. Apparently there's a piece of research that the best way of teaching children is to give them facts for 8 minutes, let them have a play for a few minutes and then repeat the facts for 8 minutes, etc. An idea from the schedulers at Sky News according to Ms Young!
Sky News has come under fire in this week's Radio Times. Lauren Laverne (presenter of The Culture Show) says
"Myself, I go for Sky News in the morning, on the grounds that it brings you the news in the most overblown and alarmist fashion imaginable. I love their bombast and their "Be Very Terrified" approach to almost everything. I mean, when the crocodile man Steve Irwin died, Sky News made it into a sort of massive Death of Princess Di-type drama. Of course it was sad, but a sombre rolling news story with constant updates? I don't think so."
It's all very true, but you can't help thinking that it's a BBC magazine...
A real marked improvement over the past couple of days. Much improved angles used on Afternoon Live, and now the jib used for the press preview at 10.30. So much better. Now onto Sunrise and Sky Today?
Hi All! Does anybody know when the new Sky News website launches?? They had said the end of April, then it was supposed to be the end of May (Today), are we looking at the end of June now?

Well apparently the focus is on content more than cosmetic and so that is supposedly why it has taken so long.
