Sky News Sport though is very different to Sky Sports News - and you can get more out of a Sky News bulletin than you can watching an hour of Sky Sports News.

Indeed outside of football, alot of the time Sky News's coverage of events is often superior to Sky Sports News - who are only interested in football, football, football and whatever might be shown on Sky Sports that day.

Sky Sports News, should provide an update for Sky News, let it come from the sports budget!

I agree!

Sunrise spend far too much time on sport, as does Afternoon Live. It's only so Kay can flirt with Jon!

I actually like sport on sky news, it's much fuller than most mornings on Sky Sports News.

On the suject of Afternoon Live, I caught the beginning of the 1pm hour and actually really like Anna B moving around the studio a bit. It seems to bring out some of her personality.

Couldn't disagree more. SSN is as thorough and analytical as it gets - every major (and even minor) sports story is covered in great detail - all within the hour. All Sky News care about is the EPL, SPL, high profile Guinness Prem matches and the odd bit of English cricket. There is so much more that could (and should IMO) be covered.

that's so not true. They cover sport televised on Sky, and that's about it really.

Sky News only spend so much time covering sport because it's cheap and easy and fills time. I'm sure they also look at how popular Sky Sports News is as well.

That is my point. Time Warp, I find your comment utterly ridiculous. Why should Sky News report more sports news than it already does?

We have in depth sports news throughout Sunrise, which should be cut down, as its on far to long. Why are sports headlines needed at :53 in each hour of sunrise?

Sky Today have less coverage of it, but then Afternoon Live have at least 10-15 minutes of sports. I'd guess nearly all of it is taken up by stupid banter and flirting by Kay and the sports anchor, namely Jon Rolling Eyes

I just think the excessive amount of sports isn't needed at all. I find it, as I've said, most annoying on a morning during Sunrise.

My main point is that you can't get more on a Sky News roundup than an hour of SSN. In terms of more coverage, I'm talking about a Football League results summary, even if it is simply that - a quick 30 second look at CCC and FL1/2 results. Perhaps a quick summary of notable worldwide cricket results as well (one-dayers/tests etc, not a lot of those) wouldn't go a miss. Leave SSN to fill any excess time with interviews etc, and News to give us a broader picture of the sporting world, in near enough the same amount of time. Simple.

Tbh I generally feel sky have got it about right as far as sport is concerned during the day. Sunrise aims to give a complete round up of all of the days news Josh, Sky News is after all a rolling news channel, hence you have sports headlines at :53, just as you have the lead report replayed at :30. Afternoon Live could maybe cut it down a bit, but then Kay has always been a bit divisive, so I think I'm going to remain neutral there.

The thing that really gets on my tits is the fact that sportsline - the 'premier' sports program - is reduced to around 5/6 minutes at the end of Sky News at Ten, yet earlier on, as you rightly point out, they've managed to string sport out for 10+ minutes with a far greater number of stories included. I appreciate that they are trying to add 'more' to that hour, and rightly so, but it is simply hypocrisy.

Suprised no one has commented on the new logos being used on [LIVE][AT FIVE] and [NEWS][AT TEN], which are currently showing on the front of the desk. Greater use of the jib too which is fab, although Andrew Wilson made me reach for the off button. It's his hair. And nose. And the way he leans back in his chair and raises his chin so it looks like he's on a rollercoaster going round a tight bend.

This look is the closest they have come to the old Vote 2001 look, so lets hope they bring back some of the ideas, all be it with the horrid plastic wrap look...

The Sky News DOG seems to have moved to the right a bit to be more comfortably in the 4:3 zone, though the clock/ticker remains in place - probably to avoid having to realign all the graphics!
