I agree they are much better. Although the 4:3 safe area needs looking at. On my old portable in the bedroom it looks like KY NEWS and the left part of the clock is missing.

After some time I must say the new graphics look great, they are fresh, clean and don't take much space. Finally Sky done something right.

They seem to have got rid of one of the black bars surrounding the clock aswell.

Just responding to that article, as you know I have major issue with the cost cutting claims regarding Sky News
Got to agree with you....the cost cutting argument doesn't stack up anymore..
I'd be wary of citing this example. The reason why is that sky recognise that concerns in the city, are set to dominate the news for the next couple of years at least. On this basis it pays them to spend money bringing in, well known and experienced talent such as Jeff and Declan(?), to bolster a department that has largely been ignored over the past few years at sky.
The introduction of the 'Sky News Money Panel' and 'special programs' such as when the interest rate was cut last week care no mistake.
Expect other areas to be neglected, cut. You must have seen some of the new reporters and presenters at sky by now.
Whilst I myself am not convinced as yet, I am beginning to feel that by putting their eggs in one basket they hope to save a bit here and there.

Sky News Sport though is very different to Sky Sports News - and you can get more out of a Sky News bulletin than you can watching an hour of Sky Sports News.
Indeed outside of football, alot of the time Sky News's coverage of events is often superior to Sky Sports News - who are only interested in football, football, football and whatever might be shown on Sky Sports that day.
