I take it from looking at my Sky EPG there will be no changes to the programmes on Sky News?

I remember the 2005 relaunch and the new shows at 8.00pm they brought in and just did not work.

I wonder if we will get a Bill O'Reilly type programme on Sky News, like they have on their sister channel Fox News in the USA?

The only schedule change already happened on Monday, the extra Live Desk at 9am.

Don't expect those sorts of changes - it seems that the basic idea is that the set that was being used was built with the 2005 schedule in mind, now they're getting a new set which is better suited for the formats currently on the channel. Aside from that, sounds like just a few "minor" graphic changes.

The comments about the chatshow style desk are perhaps going a little too far. There is a small desk for one person, with a coffee table like perspex object and a sofa.

I know there is a new desk, but not sure what it will look like, and the carpets are now grey, and not red or dark blue.

Which is a direct transplant from the US chat shows

In a low key way...

I think Martin is getting at the point that its not really as 'tacky' as American chatshow desks.

I'm really surprised they've gone for grey carpets, its so different that Sky have went for low, less eyecatching colours. Of course the blue is still there, but grey for the newswall carpet and desk seems so strange compared to bright red carpets and large desks with the logo slapped on it as we seen on Sky News from 2001-2005.

I'm actually very excited for tomorrow. I hope the elbow or 'island' is used less though. Also, I wonder how Afternoon Live will work, will the stairs be there!? Laughing

Does this mean it'll lok like they're standing on concrete at the newswall?

None of you have got the hint yet with all the grey - Sky News' new set is actually built in a car park with the plan of taking it on tour around various car parks in the country. It's aim - to bring news closer to the viewer.

No that was the BBC, remember? Back in 2005 they wasted all that sodding money on a double decker bus for the election. At least CNN bought a frigging coach.
