Is it just me or has the Sky News website frontpage been redesigned slightly?

No danger of the snow disrupting the graphics then?

No, but it is the reason why the relaunch of the virtual newsroom has been delayed lol

Are you referring to the carousel?

If so, I think that is the breaking news template and one that often gets used on the home pages of other categories such as politics and business

Whereas I will kill someone if it isn't scrapped.

It's still has the impression of a quickly thrown together filler.
The TOH needs to have the date and clock count-up as a minimum. Not yet another plug from the website - which is done over 5 times in the preceding 59 minutes before it.

Anna Jones in for Jeff Randall on his programme this evening.

During which she introduced a guest as being in the Sky studio in Wilmslow. The on screen caption also said the location was Wilmslow. Do Sky really have a studio in Wilmslow? The background looked like an office, but there was a screen in the background with the Sky News logo on

They normally describe it as their Manchester office. I've seen it used for down-the-line interviews reasonably often.

I did notice that the logo on the screen was the old stacked version.

Long shift for Jon Desborough then. He's been on the sport since about what, 11am this morning?

Is this also the one they use on Sky Sports News? I saw this the other day, although they have a plasma in the background which will show an image of the channel's logo, and I'm sure I've seen both SN and SSN on there.

Never knew it was Wilmslow, I thought it would have been in Central Manchester, especially with SSN having to report alot from Old Trafford and Eastlands.

Don't get me wrong - I find it completely vile. The colours are horrendous, its purpose ill-defined, and the concept lamely executed, but after spending quite some time trying to build something which will recreate it in real-time, I don't *really* want to be starting from scratch come tomorrow :p

They have the Second Floor of Wycliffe House on Water Lane in Wilmslow (which is about a mile or so up the road from me). The building is also the Headquarters of the Information Commissioner (formerly the Data Protection Registrar).

It seems an odd place to have a regional office. I doubt the property is much cheaper than in Manchester City Centre.
