Also, anyone noticed the subtle change to the live split screen background? Its slightly recoloured, and looks much better with just a little change. Its a slightly darker blue.

Wonder if there might be a few other minor graphics edits this week too.

Maybe this darker blue is a hint at the colour of the new look newsroom??

Its surprising what a little tweak can do. I think they need to tweak the bevel on the graphics aswell, then I think they can look alot nicer.

The still version of the Sky News logo, looks like the same bevel design as the ITV1 logo in 2002.

If not, we should see it on the Sky Virtual Newsroom site which gets relaunched tomorrow.

Also, the Sky News Active background to Sky News Week In Review - is that new, I know its been mocked up by the graphics team, but I assume thats what will be seen from behind the desk next week? The whole wall of the gallery, obviously lit differently etc..

I suspect there might me a minimal change to the graphics, hopefully the red straps are only used for breaking news, and then normal straps can be blue. I'm only guessing this as Steve said on his Twitter that the studio is mostly blue.

Interesting that he said the Elbow is now 'an island', obviously it must be seperated from the desk area. So, if I'm thinking correctly, we have the desk infront of the gallery, maybe some extra fins covering up were the stairs are? Then the new elbow infront of the newswall..sounds quite nice.

Also, I wonder if the Virtual Newsroom site will be updated at midnight tonight.

Lets hope rising sea levels drowns the new island, and takes NSW with it!

Yeh - the "island" idea sounds interesting - maybe this could be a separate area for sports (i.e. Sports Desk) because I know a few people were hoping for that. I highly doubt the virtual newsroom will go live at midnight but you never know....

Is it just me or does any one else hope than when the new set is introduced next week that the weather says at the CSO opposed to going back to the newswall??

Against the CSO its just so much easier to see everything and no details are lost.

Haven't seen the Skystrator for a while - good to see it used for the weather story
