I hope not, that wooden desk was so out of place with the glass, perspex, and metal...

I actually LOVED the Sky News studio at the time of the relaunch in 2005. If they hadn't mucked about with it so often and if properly used, I think the 2005 "look" would still be very much fitting today. The main desk was latterly very much underutilised, and too much of the presentation came from that bloody "elbow" thingy, as well as the cluttered balcony upstairs. The balcony was a hideous mess though.

Bring back Ginny.

Too right. The Elbow is too overused as is actually pointless, not in the newsroom nor is anything. The desk is very nice and to have a desk of that size and only ever one person sitting behind it, and hardly used is a total waste.

The balcony was good with just the stools, but overall it is pointless, as the view was not that good, maybe thats changed now though.

FYI it's the Mezzanine & the pulpit... though the pulpit has now become the island, apparently

He was mentioning them to correct somebody who emailed him about the "balcony and elbow". Presumably internally they were known as the mezzanine and the pulpit (I do remember when Sunrise used to come from there it was described as the mez). He then goes on to mention that the pulpit is now known as "the island" in the new set. Which is "shiny and blue". Smile

Sounds intriguing! For non-trekkies, the Ready Room on Voyager has a desk and sofa, and Tactical is a console that someone stands behind.

It'll be interesting to see what he means...
