I have fallen into the presenter discussion which I so detest on these forums...

Moving On.

So when the new studio is back in use, will there only be the 3 presenting areas (Main Desk with newsroom behind, the Newswall, and the Shoebox/Soft Set) or are other regions in the newsroom being looked at as presentation points?

I would assume that the Live Desk area and the balcony will still be used as normal.

I hope that Sky make more use of the studio they will have but I don't hold out much hope,,,

I don't see how they could use the current Live Desk area because surely the view now would just be the front of the desk, wouldn't it?

I suspect the shoebox area is going to be used quite alot, hopefully it will all be done to the same standard that the original set up was done to in 2005.

IIRC Sky Sports are currently based in the former news centre.

I'd like to see Sky get their mits on some Perceptive Pixel technology. As used by CNN.

This isn't specifically for Sky Sports though is it? Isn't it the widely announced new Sky Studio building - to be built by 2011? It was certainly being talked about at IBC in September - as it is being kitted out for 1080/50p production (which is the new HD format for production - though Sky HD boxes can't receive it)

Sky News and the University of Kent have announced the introduction of a new annual scholarship, in the name of the late Sky News presenter Bob Friend.

One week today then? Interesting to see if any change to the TOTH. They should use the 20th Anniversary week to push a revamp in a postive move. Hopefully a return to a globe in the TOTH, but unlikely.

Everything that has been said sounds great, and to see a "real" version of that fake newsroom would be fantastic.

I hope the headline music stays the same, but a remix would be nice.

I wished they would introduce just 1 or 2 double headed programmes, especially as they know Sunrise ratings dropped when it went single headed, yet refuse to do anything about it?!

The design of the building reminds me of Marcopolo House. At least when that happens Sky Sports News will finally go 16:9!

Apparently all the Sky Entertainment and Sports channels are going in the new building. Sky News is in a new building anyway isn't it? It wasn't simply moving a studio IIRC.

A week today until the start of the anniversary week - the anniversary itself is a week on Thursday.

It'll be interesting to see what (if any) changes are unveiled on Monday or Thursday.

It will indeed house Sky Sports and Sky Entertainment. Full details in a Sky Press Release here:
