Kay Burley on Sunrise this morning. But never seen this studio before, what's this studio?

Honestly? This has been the Sunrise Shoebox Studio for six years, until February this year!

Honestly couldn't tell! They've tweaked the set a bit haven't they?!

I think this comes just from the different camera angle they use when Kay is presenting.

No tweaks, just a slightly different camera angle.

Is that a "real" shot of Kay? Looks like a (not exactly brilliant) chromakey/CSO job with the white outline she has.

I'll happily take your word for it!

Have they moved Sunrise back into the shoebox then?

No, it's Kay and the team's preference to do it from there on Christmas morning because it's more-informal, but it also gets used from time-to-time when there are large groups of people (especially children) or wheelchair users appearing as guests or contributors.

I always thought that shot looked awkward to me. It's definitely less formal than the regular table (where I wonder why they don't have a removable ramp) but if the news reader is able to sit on the couch why can't the anchor? The shot blocking just seems off. I think it would look okay if they ditched the desk and put an equal amount of couch on the other side of the vertical monitor but with removable sections so a wheel chair user can fit in.

Funnily enough, the one time I've made an appearance on that set was for a discussion on attitudes towards disability, as I'm a wheelchair user myself.

Kay asked me something along the lines of: "What's the difference between how you are able to carry out your job and how any other Sky News journalist might?"

And I replied something to the effect of: "Well, for one thing, viewers will have noticed we're not at the desk!"
