The Top Of The Hour sequence today has gone back to how it used to be before the relaunch. While probably only temporary due to today's events, It runs a lot better than the usual TOTH sequence which sees them cramming in three things in the space of 90 seconds.

This is how they usually do it on a weekend. It'll be full of fluff again tomorrow.

My bad, I didn't mean on the headline side. I was referring to the leadup to the TOTH sequence.

Basically I was pointing out that today they've gone to the break at x:56:40 past the hour (ish), coming back from the commercials at x:59:40 (ish) and jumping straight into roll VT. This is how it used to be before the relaunch and how its been done today. Pity the new TOTH tape doesn't seem to have a rolling start though.

Whereas since the relaunch they've gone to the break at five to, come back at two minutes to the hour and then crammed a "coming up" bed, the weather and a bit of email in in the space of 90 seconds. This method of doing things, in my eyes, looks very bloated.

Are you sure there was no weather before the TOTH yesterday?

There was a couple of hours with no weather.

I actually prefer having a weather forecast just before the ident. It actually lets me know when exactly I can catch the weather. Before the relaunch they had it in different places in the hour.

Great updated graphics of the Hemel Hemstead disaster on Sky news (Live @ 5) realy informative.

Does anybody know when Micheal Wilson stopped presenting 'sunrise', and just did the business?

I am not keen on the Sky News weather, it is just too much going on, particularly when they show Europe. It is difficult to work out what is snow and what is wind, the arrows get in the way, and the transitions from underneath the clouds to above the UK can be much smoother too, at the movement they are shoddy - they can certainly make improvements; have also noticed that we have no lightning animations. In the older graphics, they moved much smoother as the hours went by, they dont on here Sad

Have also noticed a green fuzz behind the weather presenter at times.

They got rid of the 3D looking satellite pictures and movies too, I miss seeing those. However, I do love the animation where we see the rain falling, etc - flyby similar to the BBC, but they should slow it down a bit.

Don't think Michael has ever presented a main show on Sky News (apart from the odd fill-in slot on the rota). He was however one of the launch presenters for GMTV.

No, Michael was one of the main Sky presenters in years gone by.

Sky News Active has had a refresh today. The background is a lighter blue, and the colours are generally lighter across the application.

Much nicer to look at.

The globe in the background is now at the very bottom of the screen behind the navigation.
