It seems there's been a bit more tinkering to make the ticker bar more 4:3 friendly. Watching at the gym this morning, where SN's show in 4:3, a red dot icon was visible in the bottom left instead of the 've' of 'Active' that we've been used to recently. A bit of an improvement.

(BTW, I couldn't see - what's to the left of the dot? Has it swapped with the 'Active' word, or is it on its own now?)

Looks like World News Tonight has been cancelled in order to continue rolling coverage of the events at Miami airport. Chris Roberts and Julie are presenting (thankfully) with Andrew Wilson commenting in Washington. No sign of Ruben - was he supposed to be on air tonight or is this sidelining an indication that Sky realise he's sh*t as a presenter?

He was due on - they've been promoting this evening's show like there's no tomorrow, all through the day.

Ruben can just about get through a show with a script, but as evidenced by previous nights can't adlib for Breaking News.

Sky therefore thought it was better to keep Julie on and bring Chris in early.

Now that she's happy she has a decent replacement, she can slip away peacefully...

I doubt it, Cameron is probably far too 'wet' for her liking.

Here's a crazy idea that will no doubt go down badly.

It's quite clear that Rubin on World News Tonight just isn't going to work. It's rumoured that Sky tried to poach T McD, presumably for this slot. With it looking inevitable that the ITV NC is going to close, and presuming he'd find going back to just doing London Tonight a bit dull, how about Sky poaching Alastair Stewart for a kind of news analysis show 8pm-9pm? I'd watch, for one. (Which is one up on the current 8-9 slot?)
