So here's what happens when the schedule's dropped for breaking news, then.
JT and Julie have been presenting together since before 7, and obviously no sign of Rubin tonight.

Yes, and there was no TOTH sequence at 6. Julie came in to join JT at around 6.30, obviously with Sportsline being dropped yet again. Sky has kept to their word regarding Breaking News then!
I believe Sky News were the first to broadcast live pictures from the scene in Bradford tonight.

Totally wrong. N24 and ITV were miles ahead of getting live pictures from Bradford. And indeed ITV and N24 were ahead of Sky on doing the story in the first place. N24 had Ian White from BBC Look North on air from Leeds breaking the story which the local media picked up from a round of calls to the local police press line. It was after Ian was on N24 that PA picked up on the story. Ian was on News 24 with the latest from around 4.20pm ... all Sky managed to do was get their crime correspondent in Millbank talking about it. News 24 were first with still pictures on air, and N24 were first with live pictures from the scene - at around 1750, with ITV sharing the same live pictures under a deal which saw both the BBC, YTV and ITV sharing the same sat truck. There was a live in vision correspondent at the top of the BBC's 6 o'clock news who then also did News 24. I'm afraid this is really one of those cases where the BBC (and ITV's) local power on the ground wiped the floor with Sky in the early stages. I'm afraid I can't comment on the latter parts of the evening.

I dont think News 24 had the first LIVE pics, cos before i went out last night, i was watching News 24 as they had the "latest pictures" - coming in, i switched to Sky News and they had LIVE feed.
Although BBC News 24 were quick at the start, going live to that newsroom up there

SKY were FIRST with the news that the shooting was indeed a KILLING.
Martin Brunt broke the news that one of the officers was dead.
