The opening theme is a bit to orchestral, it needs the drums and beats that the beds have....

Thats what its supposed to be like, it would ruin it if you added drums and beats to it.

I was Just Wondering
Will Sky News Today have special opening titles like the last look ?

I would have thought so, how are they going to fit:

Live from the Sky News Centre , sky news today with presenter 1, presenter 2, and presenter 3....

A rather unfortunate placing for a solar flare effect, dontcha think? Laughing

Very very impressed with what I saw this morning. I'm not normally a Sunrise viewer these days, but it's interesting to see it return to it's earlier lighter format, as opposed to the rolling news they've had for the last few years.

Obviously the set looks fantastic, the graphics are a vast improvement (although that red bar animates just like on The Day Today!) and after seeing the large straps this morning it's good to see they've gone for two lines on the Breaking News strap, and with the smaller size they can fit extra text on.

Absoultely love the title sequence after the TOTH headlines, it's great to hear the programme title again, and the bit where Eamonn walks over to the desk works really well. But am I only only person not so keen on the ident? It's well made and everything, but I can see those people getting annoying quite quickly. The music's fab, though.

Only major gripe is with News Active, really. They've taken away one screen to use as a link to Sky Active, just like they did with the football (one camera view has been replaced with Sky Bet). Also the navigation's not quite as good and I think I'm right in saying that they've removed the ticker.

Of course I've got the Sky+ fired up so that I can have a look at the rest of the day's shows when I get home, it'll be interesting to see how the more more familar Sky News Today format works with the new three presenter set-up. In the meantime, keep those captures coming! Smile

Well there kicking someone when their down, but this, this is cold blooded murder - in front of the chidren.

Bloody, excuse the pun, good new look. The music sounds fantastic and the animation IMO works really well, if slightly N24 centric.
Overall, I think I'd need to watch several of these "appointment to view" slots before casting ones eye.

Over than that amazing impressive.

I have to say, the titles are wierd, flashing around the newsroom, but extreamly good, but I know that titles will change for each programe. Well I hope so!!!

To call up the ticker in full screen mode dial ( i ) then ( 8 ). In 8-screen view dial ( 8 ).

Really love the studio. Everything about it seems to work really well.

I'm slightly disappointed by the opening titles. I suppose they should be commended for trying something new, but I think we'll soon get fed up of seeing the same people rushing about. Perhaps I was expecting something along the lines of Martin's mock.

As for the on-screen gfx, they look a lot better than I was expecting. The way they animate on with the red bar is almost exactly the same as on The Day Today. Very Happy

Interesting to note that the straps on Sky News Active are of the boxy style which was otherwise abandoned.
