That's great, I'm interested in the changed TOTH and music.

I agree Sky is doing too much celebrity stories but they are better at breaking news and bringing the new ideas to TV. News 24 can only copy them like they always did. Cool Cool Cool

Plus, I've been reading about how more relaxed and fun News 24 presenters become, but when I got to watch the channel I only saw talking heads with no chemistry at all. News 24 with 2 anchors is not better than boring Sky with one presenter for 4 hours.

Sky News is gaining a more conservative agenda day by day. It was once a fairly unbiased operation, now it seems little more than a broadcast version of the Daily Mail or Daily Telegraph, and yes, I know neither of those papers are Murdoch operations, but they are the most accurate representation of what Sky News has become.

And yes, they may be regarded as innovators, but with innovation comes failures. Just look at The Sky Report, 3D, Littlejohn, all new ideas, to the UK. But Littlejohn was little more than a poor copy of The O'Reilly Factor from sister operation Fox News. They borrowed the name of that same programme, for Adam Boulton's campaign coverage programme, The Boulton Factor in 2005, a move which led to the programme being mentioned in Bill O'Reilly Most Ridiculous Item of the Day slot.

In truth, there is very little you can do in terms of innovation in news broadcasting. If it's not reporting then it's analysis, opinion and discussion.

Are you seriously attempting to suggest that innovation is a pointless thing? 'Cos if you are...... *shakes fist*

Innovation is impossible under the current cost-cutting and budget restraint climate pervading both BSkyB and the BBC. Its all about continuing the status-quo with the reduced funding. Once the economy recovers and more money starts coming to these two groups, then you will see more risks being taken and more innovations.

Surely, given cost-cutting measures, innovation (of sorts) is a must to keep standards high?

Well, it must be true if you say. There's absolutely no chance you've just regurgitated that information from the top of the screen.
