Sky could do what CNN did, and launch a "Headline News" channel, for those 15 minuters, and for those background screen watchers, and keep the featured programming, and in-depth analysis for Sky News proper.

I'd expect some changes in the coming months, very similar to CNN's look. Watch this space I say. Surprised

We might even see the return of the 2005 logo with the odd tweak. Who knows! Surprised

An odd tweak??? You mean Vivien Creegor is returning?? I wish she was! Sky News is currently dire, bad, drivel, sh!te, and other such words.

Let's not beat about the bush - it's totally lost its way and has become a joke. Time for surgery, methinks.

Missing graphics and wobbly camera on the weather a few moments ago. As it was part of Sky.com News it should be shown again here...

Unless someone capped it?

International or US style?

If it is US, are we talking in terms of graphics (which would effectively rule out a split screen yet see the return of the full lower third) or style of programs (which would see more atv)?

Interesting. However theres a whole spectrum of presentation from CNNI. It could be the titles, or the graphics.. hopefully graphics.

However, I'd guess a new TOTH, using the white and silver colours of CNNI, and most likely use of the squares like them. With the BBC going down the minimilist look, maybe Sky have had a head first and quickly got designing a similar look before the BBC's look launches.

Anyway...this all sounds fantastic! CNN International has great presentation, and its good to see Sky are looking at CNN's look as it is very simple but stylish.

Does anyone else think that Andrew Wilson isn't suited to Afternoon Live?

The best part of it was at 4pm, when after the voice of god introducing him, he began to read the sports news (that had been placed on the autocue by mistake), and then looked to his paper and to say that that wasn't right, and what is it supposed to be, before finding the right page and saying, good afternoon.

The colour scheme is staying the same. Yellow for breaking news, with a generic colour palette of red, blue, black and white.

Have these graphics being approved by the bosses? I hope so. They sound quite nice.

Any ideas of a launch date?

Hmmmm - straps have no blue at the moment. Does this mean a return apart from fullscreen?

Blue is used as a background/base colour. The on screen astons etc remain the same colours as present. This is all work in progress remember.
