In the interest of fairness I should point out that Paul Brombley once again suggests there is no scheduled changes to the graphics in his blog today.

Im not entirely sure why he is saying this perhaps they dont wont anyone to know or perhaps my source was wrong. But i seriously doubt the latter.I'll try find out some more info.

It's got to be some sort of cover up! The Editors Blog definaitely mentioned something 'exciting' happening with the weather graphics. I doubt they would just scrap them? Unless Ryley's threw the plans out because of the money situation?

Personally, I think they are covering it up because if they said 'Yes, new graphics are being created' a lot of people would be asking what they are like, saying things such as "Don't make them rubbish" etc.

Also, there wasn't any official word on the current graphics till about two weeks before they were put on-air. At the moment, according to Jpeg's source, the graphics aren't going to be on-air until the end of the month, or even the end of April.

Exactly, spot on . After they came out with all the details last time (e.g. the breaking news ticker etc) they had the world and his wife posting on that blog - they don't want that again. It just ends up being a great big fiasco and at the end of the day it is just creates a debate that they don't really want to have with viewers.

By the sounds of it they appear to have a general theme/idea that they are looking at, however, this is, as everything is, subject to change.

lt seems that for '15 minutes' they have reverted to the jib going straight down to the elbow just as they do for Afternoon Live, well at least that's what happened at 8. Would be nice if they could learn to frame the newswall correctly, since it is so long since they've had to that I think they can be forgiven (they are using a graphic behind Sascha).

And in other pres related news , yesterdays open at 12 with Andrew Wilson also shows that the newswall is back in the bizo. As far as I can tell Andrew read the sports headlines and then they cut to a wide shot used to throw to the sports presenter with a newswall graphic of Levi Bellfield and his girlfriend (CB had an exclusive with her, if you missed it) behind. Of course all of this was over the obligatory fake newswall. His voice still gets on my tits though, soooo nasal.

I gather Ryley is starting to try to use more of the newswall one way or another.

BBC News is getting a new look very soon, I reckon they will hold off, so they can gauge any reactions, and to ensure their graphics don't accidentally appear copied. After all, BBC News have a history of taking their design cues from sky news.

I would be tempted to get the new graphics on before the BBC revamp, so if they are similar, they can claim the BBC copied them (again!). Very Happy

And vice versa recently... The current Sky News look owes more than a little to the previous BBC News look. (Particularly the live locators)

You forget Sky News had a Tower dog and clock back in 1998, and before. Also for their 2001 look, they had the location below the Live red box, although the red and black combination was done first by BBC News

Put The Telly On
Slightly OT but Sky News doing a newspaper review and Carol Barnes has had a massive stroke. Shocked

Sorry, I was just stunned. What happened, how did they deal with it?
