That classy relaunch look seems like such a distant bygone memory now.

The 'shoebox' is very close to the rest of the set , especially the desk. Its a shame the set isn't used how it was, they built and spent so much on it and for what?

So if it's directly opposite the desk then it wouldn't take much effort to use it from time to time - just a matter of turning the camera round 180 degrees.

I think it would be a better location for Sunrise myself - they always looked so cramped upon the balcony.

This is exactly my point. I've always said that Sunrise should come from there, Sky news with Martin Stanford always looked really great from there.

Interesting to note, that the current graphics were introduced on a Sunday with the Oscars going, I wonder if we get the new graphics soon.

I stumbled upon it, a few months back now.. it was one of the designers websites, can't remember which though.

That shot is very nice, something like that could be used at the TOTH instead of the wide shot which is seen on overnights and at weekends.

I doubt it although there is a recorded programme at half 9.

Hopefully Paul Bromley will give some info this week as it has been mentioned in the Editors Blog that he was away, but would reply this coming week.

Why are the two of you missing the point that one of the biggest reasons for...less use of the studio, was because of the substantial cut backs implemented over the last two years?

Woah, are you suggesting that it costs money to use another area of the studio? Come, come, you're fooling nobody with that tripe.

well I thought you were the expert/insider? Even a complete know nothing like me can see that it would be cheaper to use one shot for four hours rather than several from different areas of the studio, requiring less people to do the job.

Did we ever get to see that video of the fire alarm going off?

If there is just one newsreader though to a certain extent the job can be done by just one cameraman - as we said for example just turning the camera around to that Sky Report shoebox area.
