Good to see Martin Brunt get a nomination.

I still think that the problem is the now the lack of competition.
It's a shame that ITV did pull the plug on the ITV News Channel, or it's a shame that Michael Grade can't see the benefits of having a news channel. I know it's not commercially viable, but even a cheaply run basic sky sports news style set up with a quarter screen to make most of the space on freeview available.
Sky News just seems to be lacking that approach that they had for leading the way.
The only programme that seems to still have this approach is Afternoon Live, but then even that's less than it was at relaunch.

It might give them the boot up the backside they need.

Now on the Tube home from Uni, I saw a photo and story in someone's paper, about Sky News bringing in Ballet dancers into the studio to show the presenters posture techniques?
Can anyone tell me more?
OK I found images online

Completely agree. It did to a certain degree last time, but the trouble is it seems that a whole culture has been lost. Being honest, there was never any point to half the stuff they did, but they did it to innovate, to stand out.
It is such a shame.

How would using less of the screen save money?
It'd cost the same for a studio, a presenter, reporters, all the same news gathering costs...

Whoever wins it I can't see it leading to improvements.
Obviously if Sky win it'll be more of the same and IMO copying News 24 has been part of Sky's downfall in the last couple of years - it benefited more from the competition ITV offered in terms of how the channel was presented. And I think if Al Jazerra win Sky will just snobbishly ignore it knowing that N24 is their main competition.
