I was doing a bit of channel hopping earlier this week.
I saw that the BBC were covering the families of soldiers killed in Iraq asking for an inquiry live outside parliament, and the story that was either just before or after that was something about... Chad I think it was.
Then I turned over to Sky and watched Dermot interviewing Guardian fashion journalist Hadley Freeman (I'm a fan of her writing there, not denigrating her work at all) being interviewed about... I think it was celebrity outfits at the Baftas or Grammy's or something... something involving sunglasses... and for the next story in their rundown Sky went to the High Court on the Strand where they had a live about the arrival of Paul McCartney and Heather Mills for their divorce hearing, and they'd even deployed the 'Skycopter' (cringe).
What a contrast.
I wonder if Dermot ever regrets his move?

To be honest, at times you also have it the other way round, I've seen plenty of good, heavyweight world affairs stories on Sky and plenty of showbiz & fashion fluff on News 24. They're both as good/bad as each other in that respect.

By the way it stopped, it sounds like they were trying to mute it. The story that was on got replaced with the News Channel of the Year slide, with it's audio continuing, then going into ads, so I think we can assume they've evacuated.

Second time that's happened in a couple of weeks. Anna Jones was on air the last time.

I recorded today's fire alarm incident, and if I get chance I will capture it.

Not sure which thread to put this in (this one on News 24 one) BBC News 24 and their website are reporting as fact that Northern Rock is about to be nationalised while Sky News is reporting Sky Sources report that Northern Rock is about to be nationalised.
Will the Sky source be BBC News or will they be getting the information for somehwere else?
