I must say I do enjoy Afternnon Live with Kay more than before. I like her and John chatting about sport and I wish Emma would read the news always and not those overnight presenters.
This is the only good part of this new schedule.

Dermot in Washington tonight! At least he isn't the new Mr Holmes and isn't stuck to the studio

I heard they have to pay for excess baggage for Mr Holmes. Dermot, JT and the rest of the team are doing a superb job covering the US Elections so far though.

I think its still very stale, when you think back at how Lunchtime Live used to be in 2005. I don't like all the sport, especially when Kay is flirting with John. I think Emma should have a bit of banter with Kay, instead of just reading the headlines.

I have been told that SN are looking for a late March/April launch for the graphics which will be im told a bit different to what they have done before.

Sounds interesting. I have a feeling this might be true, I doubt Paul Bromley will want to say "Yes, were getting new graphics" because then everybody would be saying what are they like, I think the should be like this.. etc.

With this "different from what they have done before" does anybody get the feeling that we will see a Sky Sports News style of graphics, with weather and business along with a dog up the side and ticker/straps at the bottom. I've just got a feeling, especially with the fact they want to take more leafs out of SSN's book. I hope they go more minimal and LESS CAPS though!

I'm sure the same thing was said 15 months ago, and look what vomit they spewed onto the screen.

A split screen could be good, but all caps it'll look horrible

What times was JT presenting from? Eamon has no commitment to Sky News.

I was making references to him being in the US a few weeks ago giving continuing analysis during Afternoon Live. I think he's back at Osterley now.

Didn't ITV say that they could have kept the ITV News Channel and had it as a split screen service on freeview?

Obviously it could most probably only work with text rather than graphics, but I wonder why they didn't opt for it. I'm not sure if I would like sky to go this way, but the weather bar from sunrise should be present all day, and include business info in my opinion.

I agree, not only would the added info benefit the channel, but it makes the staps look so much better.

Do you think that they should continue with the square straps and graphics set, or opt for something more along the lines of the current five news set, where they fade out?
