Well the 6pm opening bulletin tonight was a total shambles.
Must have a junior incharge of that bit of kit.

Surely they are saying that the 'killer' had sex with victims. Which is a fact. They're not saying the 'accused' is the 'killer'.
If anything the BBC is wrong intimating the 'accused' is the 'kiiler'.

Moving away from this story, I do think it's alarming how tabloid the Sky News website has become (I looked at it for the first time in ages for the heathrow story).
Take a look at the headline straps used on the BBC News and Sky News websites for the revelation that the man accused of killing 5 prostitutes in Suffolk had had sex with 4 of them.
BBC News: "Accused had sex with four victims"
Sky News: "Ipswich 'Killer' Had Sex With Victims"
Forgive me for being old-fashioned but does anyone really believe that you can say anything (including prejudicing a jury trial) by using apostrophes around the controversial parts?!!

Er no, the BBC is being accurate.
The whole point is that the defence in court aren't challenging that the accused man on trial had sex with the victims.
What they are disputing is that he killed them.

I noticed they started doing it yesterday. It isn't the first time daytime sky news has used that type of BUG, I am surprised it isn't in the same position as the Sunrise Weather BUG.

Would certainly seem a more sensible solution...but wouldn't that then be in 16:9 digital dividend?
