Apart from the technical cockup, the login issue and the background not fade-changing, that actually looks pretty good on screen, nice little idea and an interesting departure from the regime of sitting behind a desk switching from one camera angle to the other. Having the jib roll across the studio with the presenter(s) walking up onto set and taking their positions could make a nice little TOTH sequence to be used on and off.

Another point is that the newsroom looks really desolate, if there is anybody there you certainly can't make them out and there is no body sitting in the editors bank in front of the newsroom.

This would work well during the day although probably not so well at night on tv when they don't have so many staff.

After asking a source high up at Sky News whether any graphics changes were on the way in the coming weeks,i was told of a "brand new look,date tbc".

Lets hope it is accurate information.

Well if it's true, I hope they go back to red and blue to match the set!

I hope it's a go back and start again job. They should also look again at the schedule. Whilst yes it will look awful on their part, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

The new look is referring to the graphics,not schedule.

Thats all the information i have been given im afraid.

I wonder if this is true if it will see the graphics becoming more Americanised and Fox-like.

Perhaps it is connected to the fact that on the Editors Blog it was mentioned there would be a major-redesign of the site in "the Spring".

Maybe when the new graphics launch, the new weather graphics - that the editors blog mentioned, will launch aswell.
I hope the graphic designers remember how much we hate the current graphics, and try to move back to the 2005 graphics style!
