Not sure if it was a mistake, but the ticker was in 'normal mode' so to speak, but yellow writing appeared reading Breaking News, it was smaller than on the nomal breaking news ticker.

I noticed that. Maybe it's to indicate a story that is breaking, but it isn't a breaking story that warrants a continuous ticker.

Have to say watching SN Today im not sure what the point of hiring Dermot was, like he is good but the show is just boring and quite repetitive.I would much rather an innovative few hours with Martin Stanford, but instead its the same old sitting at the desk rubbish that is taking over the channel.

Yeah, and it's mainly his slot that suffers this problem (was the same when Etchingham was anchoring). Whatever you say about Kay Burley, she's one of the few they have that can work well solo. Eamonn's usually got either Charlotte, the sports person, the entertainment person or the paper reviewer to talk to. Dermot's a very good presenter, but it seems a bit of a waste to have him just sat behind the desk reading the autocue all morning.

I'd agree, I'd put Martin Standford on in that slot, with someone like Anna Botting, and try to get the feel of the orignal Sky News Today back, give Dermot the Live at Five slot, and give JT a sort of Chief Correspondant title, let him do what his does best, reporting and anchoring from the field.

4 hours of boredom, with Julie or Dermoth. it's the same. Plus they still use that sick huge shot of presenter's head. It's scary!!!
Sky presenter's are not good at anchoring on their own because most of them are boring and wthout personalities. They are used to have a co anchor. Kay is the exception I must add. Cool Cool

He obviously left GMTV with the entire contents of the bun cupboard too. He is certainly a more imposing presence than he was in 1993:

Has anyone seen the advert in the radio times with Dermot, with the caption: Dermots got a new desk job?

Has Neil Sean been on since Christmas. I used to see him do the Showbiz slot at around 6-45am, but haven't seen him since before Christmas?
