Must say I have enjoyed seeing Mark Longhurst on air the last few days.He comes across as a no-nonsense presenter who I feel is drastically underused, although admitedly I rarely see Weekend Sunrise.I would love to see him present Afternoon Live with Kay,it would add alot of substance to the programme and maybe make the 4 hours feel less drawn-out.In relation to this I gather Afternoon Live has been losing viewers, anyone have some viewing figures?

he was really good with Kay Burley in the afternoons before the disastrous relaunch.

The Technofile Year In Review graphics looked great, and not a bad programme either.
Hopefully an indication of changes in the new year, the music used sounded good as well.

Also i wonder if their is any significance to the fact that at the end of the programme the BSkyB copyright thing came up,but so did a Sky News HD logo.

That episode of Technofile has turned up on Sky Anytime today in glorious HD. Smile

Yep, there's an article about how it was made, and why it's in HD here.

Interesting link. It doesn't mention how it got on to the Sky HD boxes though. Am I right in thinking that Sky Anytime records shows from regular broadcast channels, so if a Simpsons episode is on Sky Anytime then it will be a recording from Sky One including ads and continuity?

If so, which channel showed this programme in HD for Sky Anytime to record?

Sky Anytime is broadcast from specific transponders mainly overnight. Among the advantages is that the programmes are generally advert free.

Well it's been about three months since Sky News last revamped their schedule, so another mini-relaunch must be due imminently surely? Wink

BTW, when does Dermot Murnaghan start?

Tuesday January 8th

Sky News are advertising that he starts on January 7th

Well I thought it was odd he'd be starting on a Tuesday.

I wonder if he'll just sit down for four hours Etchingham style, or whether they'll take full advantage of the news room once again?

Do you think they'll bring in the new music when Five News relaunches? Apparently Five News is relaunching in January according to John Suchet's email:

"But I wish them all well for 2008, which will see an exciting new Five News - new presenter Natasha, new studio, new look, new everything..."

Does anyone know what Five News will look like?

The advert shows him sitting at the desk. So I guess it's the same as ever.

also- quoting the advert- "Dermot Murnaghan has got a new desk job"

How ironic! I do hope he walks about a bit more, using the newswall etc. Anyway, where's this advert at, I haven't seen it, has anybody got it?
