Is it that they are on there own- previously they had whilst the other presenter was talking to listen to the gallery..now its just them on their own all the time?

I'm confused as to why Jeremy and Julie have been struggling so much when things don't go to plan. What exactly is going on in their ears and in front of them?

Oh yes - World News Tonight. I do remember these numbers. First quarter 15,000, second quarter 1,000, third quarter 1,000, fourth quarter 7,000ish. News 24 was up in the 80,000s......
I stand by my argument about it taking time for the audience to build, but if WNT isn't gone within 9 months (assuming the figures don't improve and Rubin, who is dreadful, doesn't too) I'll eat my pants.
I don't really see the logic in the 5pm hour ratings - News 24 at 5 isn't a noticeably better product than what Sky put out at the same time. Indeed, I'd say that since the relaunch it was noticeably worse than Sky. Seems an odd thing, with no logical explanation. I suspect much of it is down to the BBC brand more than the actual output.

Meanwhile 24 have someone outside the station, various maps and are doing nothing but the Liverpool story...
Wish I could watch Sky a bit more but it seems to make my digibox crash at the moment...
edit: 24 first to get Christian Woolmer (Wolmar? sic?) too. Though he seems to talk to anyone who asks.

Well that typo could've been worse.
We're now getting the first big test of whether Sky will abandon their ATV schedule for breaking news, and the answer appears to be no. So if anyone wants any news on a potentially massive story, they have to go to News 24 or, God forbid, the ITV News Channel.
Sky has dropped the ball - they're an absolute farce tonight. Meanwhile News 24 are rising to the situation, and making it clear that they are doing 'continuous coverage'.

One of the important points of the ATV shows is that they can be discarded in case of breaking news.
Rather confusingly, we're now just switching between the two. How is the importance of breaking news decided, when we don't really know much yet...
Getting bad sound distortion again :S
Just switched over to N24 and it's quite apparent Sky's handling of this is nothing short of farcical. Looks like I'll be staying on the channel that's actually telling us stuff
