What is it about Qatar Airways? They are everywhere - Sky, CNNI, Aljazeera, BBC World, Channel News Asia - sponsoring every programme imaginable!

I have been tuned to Sky and Al Jazeera for the last couple of days, since my hotel did not feature CNN or BBC World. I made my comments about AJE over on that thread.

But, having watched Sky for the first time in months, I have to say I found the whole thing alarmingly bad.

The on-screen graphics and use of BN straps is appalling, The structure of the bulletins is very weird and the whole thing just smacks of Fox News and tabloid. I am really sorry to say so, but it has been ruined. I found it distinctly unwatchable.

A slight exception being the Jeff Randall programme last night.

When are the xmas trees coming to Sky Centre, and will we get a NEW newswall backing in the virtual style.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I read in this morning's Metro that Kay Burley is currently recovering at home after breaking a couple of ribs in a car accident.

I think she also broke a rib or two doing Dancing on Ice, didn't she?

Poor Kay, I hope she recovers well. So I guess she won't be doing Christmas Sunrise.
As for the Christmas tree and background I wouldn't be suprised if they don't have them this year.

Theres no ticker or dog on Sky News at the moment, it just made me think how high the ticker is! The graphics really need looking at, I'd have loved to see the 2005 graphics that were going to be used, If i remember rightly, they were red and white boxes?

She'll be there Burley Fans - mark my words

They usually don't have them on when they are showing the CBS Evening News.

BTW im told to expect a January 8th start for Dermot.
