I used to argue that Sky News was still its good old self, however, I've realised in the past week just how bad it is. The presentation being at number one, fair enough I don't hate the graphics as much as I did, but they are still bad. the straps are the worst. The ticker and dog look fine, even though the font on the ticker is a bit big. I like the breaking news ticker, it does the job, take for instance this afternoon a small piece of breaking news came in, and Kay didn't even mention it for at least 10 minutes. I still hope they change them though, a flipper in place of the ticker would be a good start.
2. The excessive amount of SPORT! Why does Afternoon Live need to cross over to sport what seems like every 15 minutes? Is it just so Kay can flirt with the presenter and show off her legs? Also, the pointless News Updates. Kay was mentioning the breaking news about Gillian Gibbons, crossed over to Emma who repeated it as their top story. We also have the "Your top three on the Sky News Website" which is pointless, could they not just tell us how to contact them etc? Usually Kay reads out some emails.
My next rant is the studio. In 2005 we seen it in its full glory! Great pans, good use of it. Now half of it should be just ripped out, or common sense - USE IT! All of the programme's rely on the elbow or the desk.
Sunrise - Elbow
Sky Today - Desk
Afternoon Live - Elbow (with small use of the shoebox)
Live at Five - Desk
Sky News at Seven - Elbow
News, Sport, Weather - Elbow
rest of the night - Desk
Now if Sunrise was a bit more lively, a use of the desk, elbow and upstairs, it would be great, a bit like this:

Just looks fantastic! The pointless use of that glass table right next to the elbow looks daft, the laptop gets in the way of Eamonn aswell!
Also, whatever happened to the globe, we never see it. The desk never turns around, I think the globe would suit Live at Five.
Then theres the actually news itself! More showbiz and sport stories seem to be on the agenda, such as today, the boy with a pet snake!
They continually go back to the top story, it seems just like News, Sport, Weather.
Sky News could still win back the viewers, it will just take some time. Afternoon Live has been losing viewers since they changed from 'Lunchtime Live', and of course BBC News 24 is the big winner, I just don't know what the future hold's for Sky News!
However, with the new presenter, Dermot arriving soon, It may be a good start to the new year for Sky.

Unfortunatley i gather John Ryley did not approve of the idea and it is a case of starting all over again.
I really hope that isn't a sign of what's going on behind the scenes at Sky Centre - John Ryley removing creative freedom.
Judging by the poor output of the channel in the last few months, it's sad to say that this is really quite possible.

I guess we can expect the new TOTH soon then.

But the reality is they are so far removed from what Fox is it is laughable. The only thing that the the two channels share in common is that rotating cube.

I really hate that man for destroying Sky News. For me SN won't be good untill they return to 2 anchors format.
If they want to be like Fox News so much why don't they have 3 presenters on Sunrise. That would be a nice change.
