Sky seemed to be using new (to me) stings yesterday - rather dodgy white affairs with the logo in 3D - and some dodgy red text saying "SPORT" for example.
Have this been around since the latest mini-graphics revamp, or are they new this weekend?
Whatever the case, it seems graphically everything good about the Oct 2005 relaunch has now been completely undone.

If it has some strange sound fx rather than music, yeah these stings have been used since the mini relaunch.
Shame they are so poor IMO. There was a whole load of new stings composed + produced they just dont seem to want them, and instead use awful soundfx and generic 'web 2.0' style design

Well I am glad something is coming along.
From what I can see the ratings aint! So much for the great ideas in turning the channels fortunes around.
I would love to see what the ratings would look like if SN was back on Virgin.
I dont think Sky News would be that far behind,i mean while N24 have improved, they certainly have not taken full advantage of the mess Sky News is in at the moment.
Unfortunatley i think new management is needed before we see any worthtwhile changes.

Though people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. The current Sky News graphics look - particularly the live+location is virtually a clone of the previous News 24 look.
Sky News are obviously feeling the pinch of a massive drop in ratings and a significant budget squeeze, followed by a potential second drop in ratings if they are kicked off a FTA slot on Freeview for Sky to carry some subscription stuff.
