Does Kay Burley poke that device she holds for show, out of habit or is there an actual reason? I noticed no one else pokes it as much as her.

To be fair to Kay, no one else really uses it as much as her, and yes poking it does have a purpose.
As an aside those pcs actually have the cabability to watch sky news on them so tecnically she could be watching herself, but surely she's not the type that would do that.... Laughing

A bit of a schedule debate going on over at tvnewsroom at the moment, this one caught my eye although it is very old skool....

"06.00 Sunrise Live with Eamonn and Lorna
09.00 Sky News Today with Martin and Anna Jones
11.00 The Sky Report with Kay Burley and Mark Longhurst
14.00 The Live Wall with JT and Anna Botting
17.00 Live at 5 with Dermot Murnaghan
18.30 SportsLine with Jon Desborough
19.00 Sky News at Seven with Steve Dixon
19.30 Rotating feature program/general documentary slot.
20.00 Out There at 8 with Steve Dixon and Emma Crosby
21.00 Out There at 9 with Steve Dixon and Emma Crosby
22.00 Sky News at Ten Emma Crosby
22.30 SportsLine with Jon Desborough
23.00 Sky News Live with Lukwesa Burak
23.30 Press Preview"

Quite a lengthy explanation as well.

Sky News really do have the most unimaginative names for their programmes like Sky Today and Afternoon Live. My favourite is sky.com News.

I do quite like that, it could be broken down and rejigged in my opinion...
6am Sunrise with Eamonn & Lorna
9am Sky News Today with Martin & Anna
12pm Lunchtime Live with Kay Burley
2pm Afternoon Live with Mark & Steve (I just think they work so well together)
5pm Live at 5 with JT
7pm Sky News Live with Dermot (I think he'd work at night with a big name to draw in viewers)
9pm sky.com news (with new host, extended to an hour with headlines every 15 minutes)
10pm Sky News Tonight with Emma Crosby (maybe get a male to join)
1230 CBS News
1am Sky news overnight

I did like most of the original Oct 2005 line up, but not the 3some line ups. So I've rejigged everything and everyone. Unsure who will be left for the weekend though :S

I'm not the greatest fan of making your own schedules, but I just can't help myself.

Not too fond of posting schedules myself, but it cant hurt:

6-9.00 Sunrise with Colin Brazier.
9-1.00 SNT with Dermot and Lorna
1-5.00 Afternoon Live with Kay Burley
5-7.30 Live with Jeremey Thompson and Anna Boting
7.30-8 sky.com news with Martin S.
8.00-11 Tonight withMartin S and Anna Jones
11-12.00 Sky News Review with Anna Jones

While its not my ideal line-up,its a line up that i believe is more probable what with the cost cuts etc,as it uses only 10 presenters(if you include headlines on Sunrise and Afternoon Live),so it is the same amount of presenters used at the moment, just used in what i feel is a more watchable way.

Oh nooooooo.

It's turning into a frickin' fantasy schedule thread.

Sometimes whoever's anchoring Afternoon Live would be holding on to a tablet and at the 'desk' would be another standard laptop. Kind of weird.

You can get ones that swivel, rotate, and do everything in between.

Annnyyhoo..can't anyone think of anything more interesting than presenter rotas?

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but weren't you moaning about the latest sky schedule when it came out? if you can't offer any suggestions, in future I suggest you keep your mouth shut. This is a tv presentation forum is it not? - and schedules like them or not are an essential part of tv presentation, therefore I shall continue to discuss them. Given sky's current form its quite probable that we'll see a new one in January.

Mines a 'convertible' in fact. Perhaps a pure slate tablet would be easier to hold and lighter for the presenters when walking around.

I can see that the tv newsroom website has many mock schedules listed.

I am a bit speechless at how many schedule changes the channel has had in the past few years...I wonder how many more will be required before they get it right?
