There's a new (and better looking) background on Active to go along with the changes too. Still not as good as the intial eight-screen appearance though

Just saw the changes for the first time and i have to say i am very impressed.
The glassed effect on the straps makes them look so much better.
Its good that there is almost just the one theme, the blue, rather than loads of different ones as it was before.
But i was most impressed with the newswall,it looks great, the background looks a bit similar to the one on Sky Sports News.Overall great changes and possibly the best thing presentation wise that John Ryley has done so far.My only concern is that it makes the newsroom quite dark and it may get a bit stale over time. Also the breaking news background on the newswall is pretty poor in my opinion,it just looks odd.

I agree about the breaking news. I like how everything else fits in nicely between the lines, but the breaking news does the ITV thing of floating, but I'm not sure of any other way around it.
I did like the big impact that the screen had in major news stories, but it will be a change to have something different.
What we won't have I suppose is the big christmas background again this year
. Maybe they can add fake trees in the background.
I'm still trying to work out the thinking behind it. Can people clarify it with me please...
Is it supposed to now be open plan?
Or is it supposed to be a window onto the newsroom behind, therefore the images appearing working as the magic glass used on five news?
And has it been created as a background?
Or is it being recorded from somewhere in the building?
Is there really extra newsroom behind the screen, and the lines used are lines to seperate the different camera's used to film it?

Your questions are really confusing! Well I guess there isnt any more news desks behind the newswall but in fact, it is the shot of the desks behind the anchor desk, projected onto the newsrwall once more, so it appears a duplication cleverly executed.

Any chance of someone providing a screencap - and do they still provide the eight screens then?
