I get the impression that we are meant to think that the newswall isn't there and the weather is supsended by the white bars.

If you look at the picture, the red background continues on from the red wall in the studio

Does the "breaking news" scrolling text still appear on the newswall as it used to?

Shame we didn't get the new music aswell, but anyway! I love the new newswall background, it will be intresting to see if they've kept the scrolling breaking news background though.

Just watching it now in the press review and it does actually look really good and actually quite convincing, well done Mr Ryley.

Probably far more to do with a recent "creative" defection from the BBC...

The white stripes are in front of the newswall and desks I think, either way it looks good, but is it worth a wow?

Where are the white stripes you mentioned? Smile

Is the idea now that the newswall is supposed to be a window, so that you can see straight through it?

It does look very convincing indeed.
As has been mentioned I'm not sure what will happen on afternoon live, at a guess they will use the new toth background design on the wall when using it for coming up, and then the usual story related graphics.

Just watching it at this time in the morning and it's very impressive with the motion on the wall, I wonder when and where it was recorded, well presumebly in the newsroom, but it does make it appear very busy in the newsroom for half 3 in the morning, I'm not sure whether it is or not, but it seems that way.

I was thinking the same about it being a certain deflection from BBC Sport. I like the animation on the Sky News Australia astons, it's a shame that they haven't done something like this aswell.

Could a similar thing be done to refresh the current ITV News studio in line with the new programmes next year? As in change the view, although what they will change it too, I'm unsure.

Sky News Au's straps are still better.

Yes, and Sky UK obviously liked them cos they are similar now.

The straps are even the exact same as a mock i made a few weeks ago!
