According to Media Guardian, after ITV's initial offer Sky were desperately trying to persuade her to stay, but then ITV made an offer she couldn't refuse.
It also hints that, as we suspect, Sir Trev will be there for the launch but over time he'll hand over to Mark Austin.
This email was sent around to all MPs' offices yesterday. Thought you guys might want to read it:
We're working hard to make Sky News/Politics THE place for breaking political news, commentary and debate.
All material on the site is now generated by Sky's Political Unit including Adam Boulton, Jon Craig and all our political correspondents.
In addition, Adam's blog has become Boulton & Co, a regularly updated outlet for Westminster gossip and observation that the whole team contributes to.
There's more cross-over with our specialist political programmes on the news channel…Prime Ministers' Questions and Sunday With Adam Boulton are digested and presented on the site in text, picture and video form.
We've had a wealth of success with the changes we've made so far. Our stories and blog entries have been picked up by everyone from the Independent to the Spectator, from the Guardian to the Drudge Report.
But we're not stopping there.
We're developing a Polls section of the site which will feature a monthly Sky Poll of Polls;
We will launch "Desktop Boulton" (working title!), an alert service featuring an online version of Adam who walks onto your screen to deliver the latest political news;
And we'll harness the onscreen talents of our correspondents to provide video explanation of key issues as they arise.
We hope to do for online journalism what the Sky News channel has done for television journalism.
We aim to become the fastest, most comprehensive, independent site for politics on the internet.
Please take a look at the site. And get in touch to let us know what you think - either on the Boulton & Co Blog, or by sending me an email.
