Could they have just been referring to sky.com news though? Like Jeff Randall Live could that have a wee sequence?

Well it seems we haven't witnessed a Sky News relaunch at 9am either and it's probably pushing it to hold out for something later in the day. I'm now going to trail back through this forum to find the names of the foilks who went into great detail about the 'relaunch' detailing new music, new toth titles, etc. Clearly they were just seeking some attention!

A Sky News Flesh?
Sounds kinky.
Not quite as good as when the screen used to cut off one side of the old graphics and they saucily read:
KY NEWS
LASH
Do I need to get out more?
Anyway. This seems to be following the finest tradition of Sky News relaunches. That is to say, halfarsed.

Samantha is doing the news updates now, also at the desk. Before she started there was a strange new sky news flesh.

Sky News is now such a mess.
Beveled Sky Sports News style sting
Blue moving lines for Sunrise and those award stings
White and black discussion stings
Top of the Hour with the Cube and Globe
Red Live Sting
White more at sky.com/news sting
Blue 3d Coming Up graphics
Black advert graphic
Headline seperator
Over to ___ for the rest of the day's news - 3d woosh seperator
Not to mention the lack of personality and banter thanks to these One Main presenter, and a disembodied backup presenter setup.
Also the fact they are in a blue and red studio, where the blue was slowly disappearing (not that big a deal really but is off putting) and have all these presenting positions, yet sit on a desk which no longer revolves.
I still prefer it over News 24, but it is a shadow of it's former self, and its this new chief's doing!

This is the end of this channel. Who's gonna watch this??? News 24 will get even more viewers, I would watch if I had it.
I don't understand why do they call Julie's 4 hour slot ''Sky Today''. There's no logo, background for it. They don't even call it that way, Julie said Sky News Today last hour. I don't remember what did the voice say at the TOTH.
Also, they don't even want to have 2 presenters in one shot (Julie & Samantha). They go from one head shot to another.

at 10 it was the basic "This is Sky News with Julie Etchingham" yada yada
Yikes, you've got to hope this isn't really it and we'll get the real thing next week and everything will look good and be coherent... but somehow I doubt it!
The 2005 relaunch got a lot more criticism than it deserved, Rubin aside. I think the problem was that prior to that we'd grown used to a channel that might have been a little rough around the edges, but had a lot of charm, was very friendly, and of course very good at the breaking news thing. With the relaunch the channel suddenly became very slick and polished, it might have been a bit of a shock at the time because it wasn't the same as what went before it, but looking back, once they settled in to things it got very good. Especially compared to the mess the channel looks at the moment.
