Sky were correct to ditch Ginny and Juliette wasn't exactly outstanding.
Very disappointing if they're going to have 4 hour blocks with just one presenter, in particular Ms. Burley. Colin is an excellent reporter on the scene though so hopefully he becomes a senior correspondent or something.
On a separate point, it must be extremely boring for news presenters to do the 15 minute bulletin thingy. Constant repeats, they must get fed up.
The camera shots today are very odd; very tight close up on the presenters.
I was just about to post exactly the same thing. I'm just watching a repeat of the recorded 11.20pm sports bulletin and it's such a tight head shot. It reminded me of the shot I saw earlier which was exactly the same style, although I can't remember which presenter it was.
I've been off work for 2 days, and noticed This Morning do exactly the same thing during a serious interview.
The overnight presenter is only slightly less tight.
I noticed the same thing too.. especially of Anna Botting, all you could see was her head it looked stupid.
Recently, Sky News has been a hell of a lot better at weekends. To be honest, it's the only time I ever watch the channel now.
I don't think the relaunch was the big disaster it was made out to be. Yes, it had its weak points (World News Tonight, "5 reasons to watch", stuff like that), but on the whole it was watchable. SNT AM was fantastic with the 2 Annas and Martin - intelligent and well presented. SNT PM was less so, although I'd say this was more down to Steve and Mark than it was to Ginny - they didn't seem to take it seriously enough. Ginny was an average presenter, but she was rather endearing, and I liked her for that.
This new schedule - unless they've got something utterly amazing planned that a simple mind like mine can't even imagine - sounds like a Peter Sissons-esque snooze-a-thon. In a way, they've pretty much halved the old schedule. If they were to stick Martin on with Julie, Mark on with Kay, and Anna on with Jeremy, it'd be just like it was in the old days.
Maybe that is the plan, and the schedule isn't yet finalised. I somehow doubt it though.
Im not cetain but i think Martin and Anna will present together in the evenings, the only certainty is Martin presents the 7.30 show and Anna the 7.00 show.I dont think the fact Anna's name is in the info for News At 10 is significant because the weekend one still says its with Chris Roberts and Gillian Joseph.
I wonder why Sky have not made an official announcement yet seening as its been reported on many websites(Digital Spy,TV Newsroom etc...).
OK this is a bit better ,Julie & Colin is good but what about Kay & Emma. That's strange.
So if Martin is doing the new show maybe he'll stay with Anna Jones from 8-10. But it's strange to have Anna B. at 7 and than again from 10.
Why the article says this???
''The reshuffle means that between 6am and 7pm, the channel will have a single presenter leading its programme blocks.''
OK now I get it sadly. Anna J will do the stupid News, Sport, Weather. What a way to waste her, stupid, stupid, stupid.
Poor Colin doing news updates on Julie's show. Give me a break.
