Surely fairly unlikely given that Sky News didn't start out on Freeview, and indeed resisted the temptation to join it for quite a while.
It was on Freeview from day 1, along with Sky Sports News and Sky Travel
It's entirely up to BSKyB if they want to make the channel subscription on Freeview, although they may have to remove it's FTA status (I think) on Sky Digital.
They wouldn't have to, a channel can be pay on one platform and free on another. AIUI if Sky's pay package on DTT goes ahead Sky news won't be part of it - it will be taken off DTT entirely

The weather box has been there a while but its relatively new compared to the rest of the package which has been there a bit longer.

Yeah its one of the sting update packages done back in 2006 for the Lunchtime Live promo's and Martin Stanfords show.
It had the sky news theme and had an abrupt end to it.
Yeah theres a few of them, the package is split up into 3. Basicly they are mixdowns of Bed 1.
- 5 sec stings (with abrupt endings)
- 10 sec stings (which end a little bit better and used on Stanfords show)
- 15 sec stings ( A little longer version of the 10 sec stings, used on Kay Burleys promos last year).
They are put together appaulingly, but are part of the updates to the musical package. I guess they wont be in use much longer after the music has been revised later this year.
