On the whole it looks good, and the new graphics and astons are a major improvement, though the DOG not being right in the corner looks a bit odd!
The newswall looks good, not as "cold" as ITV's. Like the podium too!
Don't see the point of three presenters on Sky News today - almost all shows in the past that have begun life with three presenters eventually cut back to two. Also, don't see how being a political aide makes you a good newsreader - so I can imagine the World News Tonight bloke being an early casualty.
I got Sky News back briefly (and very badly) last night and it seemed the Sky News Tonight branding was all over the place, with Sky News at Ten being used on the logos and viewers being introduced to Sky News Tonight.
The agenda does seem to have become fluffier, Kay Burley in an in depth interview with Ralph Fiennes and Jeremy Thompson trailing Live at 5 being live at the National TV Awards. Or is that just for the Lunchtime viewers ?

Yeah the interview was bit too long and not even that interesting- a bit of fluff is ok if its at least interesting.
Nice shot in to the break with Kay coming down the stairs and the camera wide on the studio..
Yep - I was surprised that they gave the Ralph Fiennes interview that long. It was OK but not amazing - a bit too Richard and Judy for me. Also Sky - understandably - are still getting pictures the wrong shape. Most of the pictures used to overlay the Ralph interview were uncorrected 4:3 (i.e. short and fat people) (Of course News 24 have been doing this for nearly 8 years - and they still get it wrong on occasions.)
I also noticed that Kay had paper scripts on top of her tablet PC... Is she using it as an expensive clipboard?
Still problems with the weather sound..Think they have speeded up the TOTH a bit compared to yesterday..Didnt like Kay asking for peoples views- in the middle of the headlines!
I've never understood why news channels, most overtly Sky News, are so desperate to harvest opinions.
Is it supposed to help some lost soul who's been sitting on the fence align themselves with one extremist view over another? Personally the opinion of 'Jean from Skegness' is of little interest to me when I turn the TV on looking for a quick snapshot of the news.

"Harvesting opinion" Thats possibly the best way I've ever heard that called.
But yes, quite frankly I couldn't give a toss what Sally from Coventry thinks and I've always been struck by just how much air-time is denoted to Sally from Coventry and her views. As one forumer put it so excellently - I want news not views!
