I noticed earlier that Sky News were using some footage of the Commodare onboard HMS Cornwall. As the BBC are the only media team onboard, it must have been from them.

Didn't see any credit given though. Did I miss it, or is there some sort of pool arrangement still in force for Iraq coverage?

It's around the middle, towards the top. If affects one screen but flickers slightly, and it produces slightly different colour patches to the colour being shown on the rest of the wall.

1 column on the newswall was black for a while on Tuesday. You could notice it during the weather bulletin. Must be a few technical problems.

This is just allignment of the camera. The weather never takes up the whole newswall - other things can be seen on the left. The camera was just a little too far to the left.


One thing I have noticed with the weather at the newswall is that on a 4:3 TV the weather presenter is forever vanishing off the side of the screen which looks very strange. You would think they could mark the floor or something.

The Sky logo seems to look better in that mock, mainly as it's not rotating.

I was just looking through wikipedia, and on the Sky News page it said that there was "growing speculation" that Martin Stanford had left the channel. Just to confirm this is more rubbish from Wikipedia, was he on this morning? I know he was on last week.

I guess someone posts it on Wikipedia, someone here speculates about it and hence the "speculation" is "growing".

If this turned out to be true it would be a huge loss to the channel. He was easily one of their best presenters.

The last time I saw him was on the budget coverage last week.
