From http://www.skynews.com.au/disclaimer/tvcare.asp:

Do not allow a still image to be displayed on your television screen for an extended period of time. This can cause a permanent residual image (burn-in) remaining on your screen.

Examples of still images include:

Did you see my post on another forum where I happened to point that out too!

Anyway, remember that blue wall.... well the 2nd cap is what they've used it for.

The screen seems to be showing Sky News UK/ AU for prolonged periods!

I notice the time & date are not revolving this morning. The tower is just showing the time so I guess they have dropped showing the date.

Perhaps finally some justification for the rotating tower!

At last. Sod's law when I wanted to know the time it always seemed to be the date.

I suppose it shows they're listening.

The weather is still blue/white (day+time strap)
well at least the Quatar logo shows now

Every time I needed the time it showed the date, we don't need it really, N24 doesn't show or say it

Have you read this bit...?

Many of you have asked why the cube turns. The answer, I'm told, is that Ofcom regulations don't permit static logos. This is to avoid screen burn.

What complete and utter boll*cks. Every bloody digital channel has a static logo. Does that mean all Sky News' previous logos were against Ofcom regulations?

Oh well, finally proof that Sky thinks its viewers are thick.

It sounds like a wrong type of leaves arguement.

Like you say, does this mean every other digital channel is in breach of the guidelines?

I'd imagine the guidelines are specifically about size and opacity, maybe position too? If you consider the size of the sky news logo and the fact it is all white (i know the old one was also white but it fitted in nearer the bottom of the screen).

Even so sounds a bit like a cop-out.
