i havent heard much about this dropping sky news thing, so where will you actually still be able to see it and when is this happening?

Perhaps they are just providing the 10 million people who will be losing Sky News (from Virgin & Freeview) with a nice warm feeling that they won't be missing anything.

Sky's Basic channels (including Sky News) are departing Virgin Media on 1st March unless a last minute deal is brokered.
Sky plans to move Sky news from the Freeview service to its own DTT service which you'll have to pay a subscription to. This will happen some time this summer.

This is just too funny. For years, people on here have been accusing the BBC of copying Sky's superior style of presentation...now look who is copying who! However, they couldn't even get that right. They've ended up taking the
worst
parts of the old BBC News graphics and make them look even
worse
! It is just hideous. I can't watch the channel without looking at that ridiculously oversized ticker. I know which news channel I will be sticking with...

I hate the new look. Total disaster zone. I see the comments on the Viewpoint are very negative. Hopefully those in charge will take some notice. If were going to have a mini relauch why not have it all at once, Stanford and Brazier arent in their new slots today. I have found Sky News difficult to watch today, I need a pack of painkillers to numb my headache brought on by the YELLOW breaking news. Im disappointed

Well I can't watch a channel which has an almost constantly revolving channel logo in the bottom left hand corner. I can't help from being constantly drawn to it.
I try to not look at it but then find myself aware that I'm trying to ignore it and the whole viewing experience becomes dominated by it and I have to switch off.
Anyway, I won't have to view it when it leaves VM.

Sky has just taken on even more of that tabloidy Fox News look, right down to the DOG - it even revolves every few seconds!
Using yellow for breaking news was a great move by CNN, but on Sky it's unbearable, not least at 6.30am when I saw it first. And if the Oscars are BREAKING NEWS etc, what will they say when a real story breaks? News Flash, News Alert, Breaking News - they've now lost all meaning.
Since 2000, Sky News seems to be going downhill. Now I guess the next step is a rebrand as FOX NEWS UK. The graphics remind me of those Sky News-wannabe channels you used to get on the continent.
