Thanks for all your comments so far. Not only have I read them all but I have also passed them on to the senior news executives, senior studio staff and the graphic designers.

Sky News Viewpoint

The response doesn't look too positive there either.

I'll bet there is some unhappy graphics designers this morning - especially if they have read this thread.

No doubt they'll take a look at some of those 'familiar' names and disregard them as - TV geeks opinions.

Is it me (having just seen them) That Sky and N24 have just swapped graphics, almost totally...

rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, or in keeping with the new look RUBBISH, RUBBISH, RUBBISH.
What is the point of yellow and black for breaking news until the presenters announce it then change it to the old format.
Font is all wrong, too shouty and as for the spinning logo, welcome to Fox News UK.

It's not so much a "rebrand", more of a "rebland"! Even though this can't actually be classed as a "rebrand", since the
channel is still called "Sky News". They've changed the design of the packaging, but not the name of the product.

My God what have Sky News done to their graphics??!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I turned on Sky News this lunchtime. Last night I thought the dark running ticker looked odd but it wasn't too bad. Now they have this awful yellow ticker! Why???

It looks so wrong that you think two 6 year old kids must have sneaked into the gallery and messed about with the controls.

The Sky News logo in the bottom left which rotates is also wrong. They are just using Fox News Channel's format, first the ticker in CAPITALS then this. What next the massive Fox News Alert chimes? Please put it back the way it was. This certainly puts BBC News24 ahead in design look now!!

You're right, but the Viewpoint log is packed full of complaints - from the viewing public..

The new graphics are so terrible! I can't understand that! Who put them on-air?

My guess is that John Ryley approved them.

Yeah, except Sky made theirs tacky, at least the BBC look had some professional element to it.

How exactly are you supposed to read what's on the straps and the clock when the ticker is bigger and more eyecatching??

EDIT: I can't even watch the screen without my eyes being drawn downwards to THE HUGE TICKERTAPE TEXT

What a completely baffling graphics change.

I like the way most of the new graphics were used within the first 5 minutes of the launch last night.

I knew i wouldnt like the stacked logo before i saw it, however its growing on me.

I can't stand the black ticker and wonder why black and yellow would be associated with breaking news. The only place for the black and yellow combination is BB!

Im glad they've kept the red/yellow alert breaking news straps and they look better. i guess the benefit of having a breaking news ticker is that you can have an alert on screen at the same time. but the ticker font in general is too big.

Overall, i guess like anything just need to adjust to them
