No matter how bad this is, I can't bring myself to blame the designers. It seems to me to be 'design by committee', with an initial editorial idea, that simply doesn't work. That said, you'd still think a halfway decent creative team could come up with something at least a little consistent.

I actually have the greatest respect for many of the designers at Sky (especially the new ones ) Perhaps they just weren't in there soon enough to make a difference.

The sooner they have a Creative Director with editorial power, the better.

hang on... is that weather outside 4:3 cut-off? I wonder where they got that idea from?

It does make you wonder if their temporary Creative Director is STILL working for the BBC...

I notice they have added a weather symbol this morning. Trouble is part of the text and numbers is off the screen on my TV. But if I swtich to Sky One it isn't - strange.

Also have they changed the font back this morning?

Sky News just put up Breaking News for Helen Mirren's winning of the Best Actress award!

It's been on the ticker all morning... getting a bit tiresome now.

Yes they did the full ticker Breaking News sequence again, where Breaking News is centred and 'flashing'.

I think that was a mistake, the new breaking news was about the train crash which follwed shortly later.

Not near a TV right now, so wouldn't know.

New look is not too bad, the only thing I hate is the rotating logo. Why so fast? Other than that, not bad at all.

90% of the time the new lower thirds use only three colours: red, white and black. All the blue has disappeared.
Now... which other rolling news broadcaster uses those three colours ?

Yeah, but they've managed to arrange them in the worst way possible, therefore making them completely different to BBC News.

It is even worse that BBC News previous look. It just looks messy. Go back and start again i say.
