Well the midnight TOTH was a complete mess. From Martin Popplewell not matching words to pictures, to the absence of the voice of God introducing his name, him trying to start his piece but the camera not cutting to him yet, to ahhhhh just awful.
Now this is back to the old Sky News we know and love! Fab to see Martin Popplewell do overnight, seems quite refreshing just to have straight news again!

They've gotta get this rite and soon!
Bloody hell, calm down! It's not the end of the world. If it's the worst technical cock-up on the first day of such a major change I think they will count themselves very lucky. These things happen from time to time, relaunch or no relaunch.
I too thought of both The Day Today and Blankety Blank.
I am not going to rip into it, not with it being day one.
Suffice it to say that they have killed the things I loved about Sky News.
Jeremy seemed really stumbly today (is he missing Anna? - I know I am).
Gillian - why? (when they have Anjali, Paula, Juliette etc - all much better presenters). [I did not get to see Ginny, so no comment there]
Eamonn was better than I expected though. The music and set are good (although there is a bit too much movement - that will settle down).
Not keen on the blue boxes, but the straps are OK, especially if they go back to 2 line guest details.
I think they will keep holding stories for their primetime segments - that I don't like.
I think they have given News 24 one heck of an opportunity to beat them once and for all. Do the folks at News 24 have the ability to take the opportunity?
Jeremy is always stumbly, he is fantastic as a roving reporter but there are much better presenters than him on the channel. Gillian is good but why sideline the established presenters? I'd much rather see them to be honest. I think that we'll see the BBC really take it to Sky News when they move into their new massive studios at Broadcasting House. You just know that ITN and BBC news are jealous of that set!!

Sky News have to work on their 4:3 safe areas - I've just stuck my box into centre cut out mode, and the anchor currently on looks a little, well, off centre.
I saw a graphic on Sky News just now about schools and half of the writing on it was chopped off.
They need to sort out TOTH, after I have seen nearly everyone from 7am onwards, its like one disaster waiting to happen.
Get some generic titles.... (in the style of the desktop background) to end TOTH and include a globe, and bingo.....
Generic Idents exist, they are used on news active, and Sky News Ireland has its own 'normal' ident.
This is the first time the newsroom has been in live operations, so you need to cut them some slack. There is nothing wrong with the Ident they have, with the newsroom...
Anyone know why the first screenshot after midnight shows 12.xx on the clock and on the second and third they have 0.xx
I think it is because the logo and clock on the ticker are generated by the studio gallery, while the logo and clock on CBS News is generated by transmission, and obviously the two use different time formats.
