I'm just going to come out with it, these new graphics are (imagine S word here). My family always watch Sky News for everything, and have done for years, yet one minute in to these new graphics, News 24 goes on. Speaks for itself I think.
Ironically, Sky News is carrying an item about the new look for a Belgian airline, and referring back to British Airways' failure to re-brand in the 1980s.
I'm no fan of Sky News, but I've always thought their on screen look as been pretty good, although I think teh ticker has always scolled too fast and when "Breaking News" is scolling on the newswall its unbareable. Anyway, I was expecting something pretty good from them today and I actually can't believe how bad they are. This seems to be a massive step backwards and why on earth does the tower have to rotate, its just pointless and why include the date?
And here's the other thing, and I may have missed something here, but they seemed to have lost the Sky.Com/News which use to alternate with the logo, I thought this would have stayed as it was recent change anyway and why couldn't they have incorporated the "MORE AT sky.com/news" which has always looked odd and will now continue to, I would have thought that these two things would have been one of the reasons for the new on screen look.
