Quick question - has Julie Etchingham been entirely absent from today's 'kidnap-coverage'?

Admittedly I've only caught brief snippets through the online stream, but when I've turned on I've seen only Colin Brazier or Anna Botting. No complaints about those two at all, to be honest, but Sky's presenter policy is looking baffling.

Etchingham was previously their highest profile presenter and bagged a programme built around her for the relaunch. She is now hidden away in the mid-afternoon slot and very rarely appears anywhere else on the channel. Likewise for Burley - if you only ever watched Sky News for an evening round up, you wouldn't have a clue that she existed.

Julie was off all last week and as been this week.

Sky News Sunrise, showed video of their train station screens. I doubt it will be used as is, the graphics are enlarged for this service, but the style is fairly simple.

They seem to be using both versions of the logo on the screens- the current one and the stacked one.

God I hope they dont appear on the main channel!

I can understand the size being large an' all, but the style of the fonts seem wrong. The ALL CAPS is bad, and the stacked logo, whilst not looking bad, I can't say its better as a DOG then the striped logo.

Now I havn't been able to see it in person yet, but are those gradients on the logo, strap and graphics, or just an artifact of the view of the screen/webcams?

To me it looks like a customised design just for the station screens...

'Designed' seems a bit much. Congealed, maybe...

The design itself isnt bad, it works for its purpose and looks good on the big screen, its just it wouldnt work on TV.

And with the rumour that the new on-screen look, may have similarities to these designs, then its just a worrying prospect.
