Graphics: Wikipedia is wrong about the date. It is one of the inherent dangers of the internet that not all the information is correct.

But I think wikipedia did get it right when the entry said: "Many other channels have attempted to mimick (sic) and emulate Sky's standards and methods with varying degrees of success."

It is no secret that we are working on a change to our graphics look. It will concentrate initially on what we call the "lower third" of the screen .

Our current plan is to make the change in the next few weeks - but not January 29.

Titles/look: This is a longer-term project and you won't see the changes until the spring at the earliest.

Globe: As I said in the "Spanning The Globe", our international coverage is more - much more - than just the issue of whether we restore the globe to our title sequence.

Those of you who travel from major London train stations will be familiar with the big screens giving the latest news, provided by News 24. The BBC have lost this contract to Sky and the new on-air graphics will also coincide with Sky News coverage on station screens in a few weeks time.

That's the fickle world of fashions though. I hope they go for something inbetween CNNi and News 24, whilst still keeping a sky influence.

Interesting that a complete overhall will come in the spring

Please correct me if i'm not reading the site properly, but it seems as though Paul Bromley's post has been edited subsequent to you posting that quote.

The line about "it's no secret that..." has vanished. So maybe it was a secret!

Ginny is making her first appearance since been sacked from Sky News tonight on BBC 2 at 9pm till 10.30. Its a documentary asking whether we should fly or not:

Should I Really Give Up Flying? takes a new look at air tourism and its impact on the environment, which should help viewers make up their minds about their own flying habits. Ginny Buckley and Max Flint report from around the world and reveal the effects of climate change on some of the world's favourite destinations.

Why does Sky News have Syed Ahmed on the paper review?

I watched him on the night the Michael Grade story broke and assumed Sky would not invite him back after his stumbling performance.

Switched on tonight and he's on again. This guy does not have a clue and he's making more wild claims (apparently the Government are currently building a load of prisons to address the overcrowding issue Confused )

Luckily tonight Ann Leslie is on and ripping apart every piece of nonsense that's coming out of his mouth Laughing

I don't watch the paper review that much these days, is he a regular contributor?
