I see they're doing a special 'Green Britain' series this week, with its own graphics and straps.

The lighting 'fins' in the studio also turn fluourescent green too.

Does turning them green use less energy then?

What about having a 20ft newswall on 24/7 that's hardly used then?

Yes, there's definitely irony in putting a counter showing Britain's carbon emissions so far this week on a giant videowall...

Why is it that every time I turn on Sky News at the moment, I see Martin Popplewell?

Because he's the replacement for every show, from Sunrise to Martin Stanford's show. At least he's working unlike some of the other presenters like Allan,Paula,Helen.

You're right there, he did seem to fill in for nearly all shows over the christmas/new year break.

A bit more variety would be nice!

That was hilarious just then. Francis was cut off in his prime! Halfway through his forecast at the newswall, the camera decided it'd go for a galavant around the newsroom, leaving Francis carrying on with his forecast out of shot. He eventually went, "Hello there, lets have a look around the studio shall we?" By this time Martin and that woman were in shot at the desk preparing for news at 10.

Cut to the weather sponsor bit and then a countdown starting around 9.59.24 and ending well before the hour, straight into the titles.

Oops!

It's a quarter to half past Kay Burley, and Conservative MP Sir Norman Fry is about to make a press conference.

"At approximately 9:59pm on Monday the 8th of January, I was being interviewed in the Sky News gallery by a journalist. As Francis Wilson was explaining the strong gust of wind bashing into the Pennines, I accidentally slipped onto the camera controls and a part of the journalist entered me. As far as I am concerened, that is the end of the matter."

OK perhaps not, but it sounds less boring than a technical glitch.

I notice the newswall is being used alot for the Green Britain.Over the newsroom animations are being used alot too.Even Eamonn is getting a chance to work from the newswall which is a shock because he hardly moves from the balcony area.
