Well, Sky News has been off since about 12 midday. Great NTL!

You can't say it will never go off, for all we know Sky's uplink could fail tomorrow, leaving Sky News broadcasting on other platforms but a lack of it on Sky.

AIUI ntl:Telewest don't pick up their signal for some Sky Channels from Astra do they? There are a number of streams available from other satellites which are specifically intended for re-broadcast, so quite easily one of those transponders could go down and cause it to disappear off DCab.

The Sky News Cable feed is carried on Astra 2 (and can be programmed into any digibox or FTA box). However, as I understood it from a mate of mine who works at NTL Cambridge, NTL:Telewest receive the Sky channels from a direct fibre optic feed. The only companies probably using the satellite feed would be Wright Cable and possibly Homechoice.

Yeh this has been airing since around the begining of December. Presenters take it in turns each half hour I think to present each 15min segment.

Not actually watched to find out but on the Freeview EPG this afternoon each hour was presented as "News, Sport and Weather" with the description saying something like "Everything you need to know in 15 minutes".
