Enough of Kate Bush already, it featured in Sunrise, and is still featuring in the Sky Report.

and anyone noticd this interfirance with the weather mics ?

Yes i've noticed this- at first i though it was just my freeview but its just the weather it effects. I saw they now use a wirless 'clicker' (not sure what its really called) could this be interfering?

Why do we still have Kate Bush??? She doesnt even do interviews..yet shes got more promotion today than the interview with the PM in an hour!

My caps and vids are currently out of action as Ive run out of bandwidth.

I think that's a lesson to you - never post material on TVF unless you have copious amounts of bandwidth. Laughing

The Sky News Relaunch page has all the videos I have captured of the new look.

All of the videos except Sunrise should be there (I shall scream if I hear that orchestral bit of Sky News music again; cutting down these videos is a pain as the Realmedia Editor isn't very precise. Rolling Eyes ).

Sky News Ireland's studio has had a makeover in the red and blue colours, and is all the better looking for it. Grainne now even has a desk, albiet a really small one.

The announcement at the top of the hour was played over an animation of the logo over the globe, rather than over a pan of the studio as in Sky News UK. In fairness Sky News Ireland hasn't got a big enough studio to pan across!

Sky News Ireland had different into-break stings - instead of the rather abrupt ones Sky News UK are using (with just a "swosh" sound), they play the melody over them. They also play the melody at the end of the bulitten.

Strangely on the day Sky News itself brought back programme names, Sky News Ireland appears to have dropped them.

Sky News Ireland are also using two-line name/title astons all the time, instead of the one-line ones Sky News UK seems to favour. Although I've just caught one on the Sky Report also. The "static ticker" also makes a comeback for Sky News Ireland, so don't rule out seeing it on Sky News UK at some point.

Finally with regards to Ireland... we now have proper weather graphics, instead of super-sized versions of the UK ones.

As for Sky News itself...

Much improved over the previous look. The main issues with the 2001 relaunch have been addressed - the super-sized astons (and remember, they were originally even bigger in 2001 than they were at the end of that look's life) are gone, along with the Big Red Blob. And the programme names are back onscreen.

Today has too many presenters IMO. Live at 5 looked closest to "traditional" Sky News. It'll be interesting to see how regular News On The Hours are handled. Thing is, with the new look there aren't many of these... I think 12 midnight is the first!

The Sky Report feels more like Tonight with Trevor McDonald than Sky News.

They need some generic titles for plain news hours. Rather than panning the news room.

I know this isn't a mock thread, but these are the small adjustments I would make to the astons...

I like the fact that the Sky Report has longform reports, it's more a "Tonight with Trevor McDoughnut" than a traditional Sky News programme.

Is it possible for someone to upload images of the SNI Studio and titles ?
Or maybe even a video ?

Yeh, this is one of the best programme I have seen on the new look yet.
