The original globe in the second picture looks good yes. lol. I was just thinking before that it would be better if instead having the blue lines on the newswall, it was studio shots moving slower though like in the toth... I think it would look quite good.
As for that 1st picture, most of it looks very fake.
I was thinking about having the globe, with the sky news logo. Then clear lines going over the globe. It mixes the lines and globe background together, and would look alot better.
Weekends have really become more interesting, with more presenters. Today they had something called Weekend News Round-Up, with Allan presenting first half hour and Paula the second one. They presented from the Lunchtime Live desk. It consisted of the main stories, sport and weather every 15 minutes. Also they had a voiceover for the second half of the hour. It was a bit strange.
I also noticed that, instead of double headed bulletins they had one doing one half, one doing the other. Im glad there not sat behind the desk aswell! There nearly more active than the weekdays! all them presenters sat behind that desk
Quick question, when did sky drop the globe on the left of the main straps? It's been gone since the new titles at least, but has it been missing for ages and I've only just noticed?
Its only the breaking news straps that don't have the globe as far as im aware, the other straps do have it though, cos when I watch Sky UK here I always see the globe.
We really seem to have hit the wrong note over one aspect of our coverage.
Many of the Sky News viewers living overseas have been sounding off about it for weeks now.
For the uninitiated, I should explain.
The advertisements which run during the commercial breaks are not shown abroad. Instead, viewers have a text summary of the top stories, the latest business news and weather reports.
What has annoyed many viewers is the music which accompanies this summary.
I can best illustrate your comments with this email from a serving soldier in Afghanistan who watches Sky News via the British Forces Broadcasting Service.
He said: "We have to listen to the Sky News music and since it is on all the time, I have now heard that tune about 10,000 times and it's starting to grind me down."
Other complaints have come from France, Kuwait and Johannesburg.
I have passed all your comments on to senior managers at Sky News.
Jon Bennett, head of studios, said: "We have noted what viewers have told us. We have had another listen to the music and have decided to re-mix the Sky News theme music."
I can't give you an exact date when the new music will accompany the text summaries during the commercial breaks but it should be in the next week or so.
I hope you like it, whether you are a soldier or a civilian - although I know many of you think that silence is golden.
I wonder if it'll be like the godawful new headlines bed?
